i like the extension, but maybe colorvariations of the original default-icon would integrade better with the look&feel of the default firefox theme

Like the idea, works quite well. Quick bug report - after using "Drag tabs", an option that is in a customized Minit extension (and a couple of others), tabs lose their colored icon.

This extension is great but I would like to see it taken a step further. In addition to the colored icons, it would be *extemely* helpful to be able to assign an individually provided icon (any icon in the format *.ico) to the toolbar "on the fly" if there is no "site" icon already provided.
See the link below for a discussion of the need (in Mozilla/NS forum) for this capability:

Thank you for an excellent extension.
Here is a suggestion for two "would be very nice" features:
1) It would be nice if we could have an option to display same icon for web sites that are located on same IP address. I think it would be very useful for web developers when doing testing on a test site (with multiple windows open with database administration, web site, backend admin control panel), with similar pages opened on live site at the same time.
2) It would be great if we could pre-assign a tab color to a domain name (via Options) - i.e. have a combo control where we can type a domain name, select color, and add it to list.Thank you for your work! We appreciate it.

when uninstalling hashcolordtabs with the option "no icons" checked (u know, the one with the crossed out icons), the icons of the pages won´t appear again in firefox version 1.02 unless i reinstall the plugin and uncheck the "no icons" box.
just wanted you to know that
(maybe someone else noticed that before),
looks like a "bug".
nice tool anyway,

Rite of Tongue is a very useful extension. It would be better if it returns that a word is already correct or that it can't find a match rather than just showing "empty" for both cases.

Greetings from Hong Kong! I am an Australian living and working in HK. I love your extension, but would suggest adding text explanations to the preferences.
Also: It would be GREAT to be able to group tabs based on domain (put them all into one tab with a dropdown to select which page - like the windows task bar).Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050226 Firefox/1.0.1 - [16] Submitted by: Miha on Monday 2nd May 2005 at 11:46 -0400

Hello! Love your extension!
I would just have a request to make the icons bigger (colored area) or even an option where you could chose between sizes. For me the bigger the better :DI would also very much like the option of preassigning colors to domains (Alexander's second request), maybe have 10 domain places for this feature.

I love the icons just as they are. More colours, especially dark ones, would be cool though.
Bug: In Tab Mix, after you drag an icon, the colour is reset.

I like the hashcolouredtabs extension, but for some reason it causes problems with certain secure login sites (in particular, my bank's website). When I try to log in (FF 1.05), the site direct the browser to another site and FF is unable to find this site when hashcolouredtabs is enabled. If I disable it everything works fine.

Good concept, but NEEDS MORE WORK DONE ON IT.
Doesn't work with the miniT (drag+indicator) extension, looses the coloured icon.
It shows over sites that actually already have an icon (eg www.speedlabs.org)
Shows over the top of the Downloads window when opened as a tab using the 'download manager tweak' extension

Very good work, but...
Your "Demo" in the Home Page does not work correctly (at least for me), here are my 2 BUGS:
1)
You say to test your Extension with the sentence:
"Thsi santence is spetl wrnog."
But only "santence" and "wrnog" are corrected, the other words and the entire sentence is does not give any suggestion! (Yahoo API)2)
You say to "right-click" on the word, but I have to "left-click" on the word to set the cursor position before right-clicking (because it is the left-click that selects the word to check, not the right click!).Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6

RiteOfTongue
This extension is usefull when it works. But it has one problem which I think is pretty major. It does the exact same thing when it can't find the correct spelling of a word as it does when the spelling is correct. I wish it would say something like "Incorrect?" or something when it can't find the correct spelling of a misspelled word.Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7 - [38] Submitted by: flamingpolo on Thursday 29th September 2005 at 01:02 -0400

Highlighter -- suggestions
I'm learning French and I use Highlighter to highlight new words and phrases I encounter in web pages and then collect them in a text file for review. For this, I use Highlight->copy all. This works great if all the highlights are in the same web page, but it is difficult to do this when the highlights are in different tabs (one must visit each tab separately to copy-paste). I suggest:
(1) adding the option to "copy all" highlights from all open tabs to the clipboard.
(2) adding the option to automatically copy (append) each highlight to a user-specified text file. This makes it possible to collect all the highlights for an entire browser session in a file without having to copy-paste several times.Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051025 Firefox/1.5 - [43] Submitted by: snapbrowser on Friday 18th November 2005 at 06:43 -0500

Great extension.
But, I would like to see an option to un-highlight.
Say you highlight a lot of text, and then, you highlight something that should not be highlighted. You can the use another colover, I guess (have not checked yet), but you would really want to un-highlight.
Makes sense?

One suggestion: how about adding an option to blink a keyboard LED when there are new messages? Also, perhaps #of blinks = #of new msgs? I often turn off my monitor when I'm not actively using my computer, but would still like to have a visual indicator of new email msgs. Anyway, food for thought.
Thanks again for a great piece of software!

Two bugs in context hilighter:
#1:the options dialog won't close when clicking the ok button in firefox 1.5.0.1, the options are saved though, so clicking ok and cancel will save the options and close the dialog, sure is confusing though.
#2: the toolbar icon will grow when it is depressed for instant hilighting, making the whole toolbar grow, doesn't look too smooth.

i don't manage to save or the addon highlighter doesn't allow to save a web page with the highlighted text...it's really sad, it'll be great to add an option to save the modified html page with the highlight. Like this when you read later an article that you have already readen, you know what's important on the article...so please add the saving feature! thanks...

I also really love this because it makes tab-handling more easy. However: It should be compatible with TabMix Plus and if a page does not have an icon to display in the tab, then the coloured square should appear.

Hi,
Loved Rite of tongue before... but now that you've taken the Google out of it, it doesn't work as well. I almost NEVER got the "Wrong!" notice before; now I get it 80% of the time. :(
The nice thing about the google component is that Google updates constantly with 'non standard' words, such as proper nouns and other things that don't make it into Dict.org. (Nintendo, for example)
Is there ANY way to add a dict server that would check Google first? I LOVED this extension... now it's only OK.

Hi. I started using a theme today -- one that I really like and would want to use all the time. The theme is named "Sky Pilot". Unfortunately, it doesn't get along with the Yahoo Mail Notifier. When the notification pops up in the lower right-hand corner, it is so slow, it takes almost 5 minutes to come all the way up. If you figure this out, I'd really like to know.
Thanks for your hard work on a MUCH needed extension.Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 - [78] Submitted by: David on Friday 26th January 2007 at 08:31 -0800

Maybe I'm thick, but I don't see an un-highlight option or anything else except choice of colours in the advanced menu. What am I doing wrong? (FF 2.0.0.1 and Highlighetr 0.1.4). Could there be a conflict with Autocopy?

excellent add-on.
as per some of the above, the ability to save highlights locally so that they appear when a highlighted page is reopened (from bookmarks or whatever), having the 'clear highlight' option available at a higher level menu (no need to delve into sub-menus to find it (both highlight and clear highlight available at first click), and a more easy method of copying all highlighted text and pasting it.

Good extension. Since I often browse with many tabs, though, it would be even more helpful if the entire tab, and not just the icon, could have a colour based on the web site. I'd also love to be able to reserve certain colours for certain sites, so that I can, say, look for purple tabs if I want to quickly see all of my open newspaper pages.

I like the concept, however, users need to visit the homepage to figure out the options. It looks like the option dialog was created assuming the options would be self-explanatory. They are not.

HashColouredTabs is terrific. I have one enhancement suggestion, which would be to be able to choose whether to use the website or coloured icon on a per-site basis, instead of having just a global setting.
I don't like turning off the website icons entirely because I often have enough tabs open that the coloured icons don't provide enough differentiation. On the other hand it would be nice to be able to have www.google.com show a different icon from maps.google.com, for example.

I am doing a group project, which involves firefox extension. We're allowed to extend out of an existing extension, and we found that your Highlighter extension would be nice. We would like to ask if we may use your existing Highlighter extension code and build on that only for the purpose of the class project.

Hello,
Thank you for writing the wonderful Highlighter add-on. I'm using it frequently and it works well. I'd like to suggest a feature that would make it even more useful: make the highlighted text be permanent. So if I save the page to the harddrive and later open on another computer it will still show the highlighted text. This should not depend on cookies, but it should simply include the highlighted text in the html code when saving the file.
I often save useful html files and later open them on my laptop which does not have internet connection. Such feature would therefore be really useful.
regards
Dave

Nice extension. Much cleaner than Colorful Tabs! However, the configuration options could be improved.
What I'd like to see:
- The ability to manually override the settings for a particular hash/domain, being able to select between a particular colour or the default icon. This shouldn't be difficult to implement!!
- The ability to manually override the settings for a particular -page- (even if it's only temporary for the current session). As a web developer, sometimes I have many pages open from the same domain, but for vastly different purposes.Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9
